The Design & Ordering Process

BESPOKE STATIONERY - FROM CONCEPT TO FINAL PRODUCT

  • This is the fun part! Collect and collate as much inspiration as possible by looking through magazines, blogs, Pinterest and Instagram. Think of the season, location, venue of your event or wedding. What kind of tone are you trying to set? What do you want your guests to feel when they receive your invitations? What kind of colour scheme are you going for? What level of formality is your event? If you’re getting married, how did you meet, what are your shared interests, what are your personalities like? What is your love story?

Also, think about your budget, which stationery pieces you may need, printing methods you’re interested in and any add ons such as wax seals, envelope addressing etc. that you would like to include. Discover all the different ways we can customise your bespoke stationery suite by reading the Design Guide. FAQ is also a helpful resource.

We highly recommend purchasing a sample pack to get a better idea of the different printing methods available, paper stocks and colours.

Feel free to contact us with your queries or to organise a chat contact us prior to requesting a quote.

The more you can narrow down your unique style and vision, the more helpful it will be to provide an accurate quote.

  • When you’re ready to request a quote, a questionnaire will be required to be completed by you & your partner if you’re getting married. It would also be great if we could organise a chat over a coffee or online meeting so I can get to know you a bit better and understand your ideas and design goals.

I will then provide a free quote and timeline. If you’re happy after reviewing our quote, I will send you an invoice for a 50% deposit and contract to be signed. Once you fulfil the invoice and contract your project will be secured in my calendar and designing your stationery can commence!

  • This is where the magic starts to happen and you see your stationery come to life!

Firstly, I conceptualise 2 moodboards (or inspiration boards) to capture the overall vibe and aesthetic of your invitation suite based on your questionaire answers and inspo you collected. This stage of the process ensures that the designer and client are on the same page. The moodboards will outline two design directions that include colour palettes, fonts, printing methods & finishes, embellishments and thoughtfully selected images to represent your overall design brief.

You will also need to provide all the content (wording and details) for your stationery at this stage

Once you have decided on the direction you would like to take, I will create your stationery suite! Then you’ll receive the first design proof to review and provide feedback. Your quote allows for three minor revisions, but any further revisions or big design changes will incur extra cost.

  • Once all of the design is to your satisfaction, your written approval of the final artwork proof and the remaining balance of the invoice is required before I prepare the files for print production and send your invitations to print! Your invitations are printed by the best professional printers in Australia to provide you with premium quality paper goods!

  • When I receive your invitations, I do a little happy dance before carefully inspecting each item to make sure everything is up to our standards. Your stationery is lovingly packaged and sent to your doorstep! Woo hoo!

 Timeline

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY INVITATIONS?

The whole process usually takes between 3 to 6 months. Timelines depend on the scope of the project, printing methods, how many rounds of changes are required, and the client’s supply of final wording, artwork feedback and fulfilment of payments.

Please factor in the time it takes to address envelopes, assemble your suite and the post to send your invitations to your guests.

Also, please book your stationery project as early as possible. As a small boutique studio I am only able to take on a few clients at a time!

Head here, (then click on ‘Timeline’ if using a mobile device) to see when you should be ordering and posting all your wedding stationery!
